C10C8 Function Shut-off Active

Fault code C10C8 Function Shut-off Active is set when ride height control module detect over heating of ride height control module compressor. Air compressor is use to buil air, which is use to fill in air matic shocks absorber. Whenever there is any leak present in ride height system. Either it is leak, at air matic compressor or at pipe line which is connected to shocks up’s. Also air can be leak from valve block, valve block is connected to air matic compressor. Valve block is use to distribute air to all the shocks absorber. When due to any reason air leak from these places air matic compressor has to work more to build air. When air matic start working more than it capacity, than there is a temperature sensor fitted in it send signal to ride height control module of about air compressor over heating. And when ride height control module receive this over heating signal from temperature sensor of air matic compressor. For safety reason ride height control module shut-off air matic compressor. When this phenomenon happen ride height control module set fault code C10C8 function shut-off active.

C10C8 Function Shut-off Active

Causes of C10C8 Function Shut-off Active :

  • Leak at air matic compressor.
  • Leak at pipe.
  • Faulty temperature sensor of air matic compressor.
  • Leaky valve block.
  • Leak at shocks up’s.

Symptoms :

  • Take too much time to height vehicle.
  • Sometime it does not make any air pressure.
  • Fault code will store in control module.
  • Air matic warning light will start blinking.
  • air compressor will not start working when this fault code is store in control module.

How to trouble shoot :

  • Fault code C10C8 Function Shut-off Active is indicating problem at ride height control module. When find this fault code, start searching the reason behind why compressor is over heating. Because whenever air matic compressor will start over heating due to its failure or any other reason this fault code will set in ride height control module.
  • Start checking leak from air matic compressor, if found any leak than close it that will clear problem. If there is no leak found on air matic compressor than check pressure or air in compressor. Pressure of air in compressor should be near 16 (+3,-3) bar. If it is lower than this then it means air matic compressor not working properly. Replace compressor with new one that will solve problem.
  • If compressor building enough pressure than go to check leak at it valve block. Valve block is use to distribute air in all four air matic shocks-up according to their needs. There are 6 pipe on valve block in which four pipe go in each shocks up’s and the other one is coming from air compressor. The rest one is use to connect with air storage tank. Check leak at that pipe distribution area. If found close that, which will solve the problem. if there is any leak present on valve block close that leak.
  • When there is no leak on valve block than check pipe’s if any one of them is leak or damage from middle or at the end where it get attach to shocks. If found any damage pipe or leak at attach place than close that leak so that there should be no leak.
  • If there is no leak at any place than go to check temperature sensor of compressor. When temperature sensor is not working properly or temperature sensor does not send proper signal to ride height control module. Than ride height control module shut-off air matic compressor. Check wiring harness of temperature sensor if found damage than repair it. in case if wiring and all are good than replace faulty tempreture sensor.

Solution of C10C8 Function Shut-off Active :

  • Replace weak air compressor.
  • Repair leak air compressor.
  • Repair damage pipe line.
  • Also replace or repair temperature sensor.
  • Replace leak valve block.
  • Repair or replace leak shocks up’s.
