P0107 the intake manifold pressure sensor

Fault code P0107 the intake manifold pressure sensor indicate problem at intake manifold pressure sensor. Intake manifold pressure sensor is use to monitor pressure of air intake into combustion engine. Intake manifold pressure sensor monitor pressure of air and send this signal to engine control module. Engine control module use this signal to inject fuel into combustion engine. When there is any change take place in intake manifold pressure sensor signal then engine control module start injecting fuel in low or high amount of fuel in combustion engine. When engine control module recieve this signal it start injecting fuel in wrong quantity. Due to which engine start missing or knocking. When this happen engine control module set fault code P0107 the intake manifold pressure sensor.

Related fault code:

  • P245C The switchover valve for bypass exhaust gas circulation cooler has a short circuit to ground.
  • P0598 The coolant thermostat has a short circuit to ground.
  • P0034 the output for te switchover valve bypass flap charge air has a short circuit to ground.

Causes of P0107 the intake manifold pressure sensor :

  • Faulty intake manifold pressure sensor.
  • Damage wiring harness.
  • Blown fuse.
  • Faulty engine control module.
  • Leak intake manifold.

Symptoms :

  • Engine start missing.
  • Knocking at engine.
  • Fault code will store in engine control module.
  • Warning light will illuminate on cluster meter.

How to trouble shoot:

  • Mechanic need to scan vehicle with the help of scan tool. Find fault code and rectify status of fault code.
  • Start solving this problem from checking leak at intake manifold. Leak intake manifold can also creat this fault code. If found leak at intake manifold than replace it with new one.
  • If did not found leak at intake manifold than go check wiring harness of intake manifold pressure sensor. Check power supply, ground and signal wire.
  • There would be three wires on intake manifold sensor 1) power 5 volt, 2) ground, 3) signal wire. If there is four wire at sensor than 4) wire would be 5volt reference voltage.
  • If found any one of these no present then check reason behind that. Weather if it is due to broken wire, blown fuse, or faulty engine control module.
  • If found blown fuse than change it, if found damage wiring than repair it and if found that engine control module is faulty than replace it.
  • If all the above fuse, wire, engine control is good than it is clear that intake manifold pressure sensor is faulty.

Special note :

  • Whenever found this fault code, than before replacing intake manifold pressure sensor check all the above things.
  • If there is a problem at exhaust gas recirculation system than it is possible that this fault code can be store in engine control module. As all these are connected to each other, solving problem of exhaust gas recirculation can solve this problem.

Solution of P0107 the intake manifold pressure sensor :

  • Faulty intake manifold pressure sensor.
  • damage wiring harness.
  • Faulty engine control module.
  • Leak at intake manifold.
  • Leak at intercooler pipe.
