244d00 charge pressure control deviation

Fault code 244d00 charge pressure control deviation, charging pressure too high control deviation is related to the problem with charge air pressure control actuator. Which is used to control the speed of turbocharger according to the engine requirement. Engine control module receive signal from many other sensor (air mass sensor, manifold absoluter pressure sensor, exhaust gas temperature sensor), with the help of which it control the speed of turbocharger by charge air pressure control actuator. When engine control module did not receive or receive any wrong signal from all those sensor. Than it does not properly open or close turbocharger. Due to which there will be a problem of low pickup issue while driving.

This could be happen due to two main reason electrically or mechanically. In electrical problem there could be the problem of faulty charge pressure control actuator, damage wiring harness, blown fuse. Also there could be the problem of failure of some other sensor.

In mechanical problem faulty turbocharger may be the reason behind this fault code. Also carbon deposition inside it turbocharger may be reason of it.

Causes of 244d00 charge pressure control deviation:

Faulty charge pressure control actuator.

Failure of any other sensor like, air mass sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor.

Broken linkage of charge air pressure actuator.

Block fins of turbocharger due to which turbocharger does not open or close properly.

Leak at air pipe which is connected with turbocharger.

Electrical fault at charge pressure actuator.

Improper linkage alignment of charge pressure actuator.

Smptoms of 244d00 charge pressure control deviation:

Fault code will store in control module.

Check engine light will illuminate on cluster meter.

No boost power at engine while driving.

Slight black smoke from exhaust.

Low mileage problem.

How to trouble shoot:

To confirm this fault code you need to take a test drive. While driving if there is no boost power or speed than you need to hook up scan tool to find out store fault code in control module. When found this fault code 244d00 charge pressure control deviation, charging pressure too high control deviation store in control module. Also along with this fault code if there are some other fault code is store in control module which related to engine boost power. Than this is confirm now that there is some problem at charge pressure control actuator.

To check if charge pressure actuator is working or not. With the help of scan tool go to read data stream check if actuator linkage is moving or not. Press accelerator pedal and check reading of actuator if reading increase when accelerator pedal is press than it means that there is no electrical fault at actuator. But in case if reading does not change when accelerator pedal is press. Than it means that there is some electrical fault at charge pressure actuator. In this situation check wiring harness of actuator if there is problem of broken or damage wire than repair that wiring harness. Also check fuse of actuator if there is any failure of any other sensor (air mass sensor, manifold absoluter pressure sensor, exhaust gas temperature sensor).

Because when any one from these sensor will not work proper. Than engine control module will not get proper signal from these sensors. When engine control module will not receive any signal or irregular signal from these sensor than control module will not operate this actuator properly. As engine control module use signal from these sensor to decide that at which position it need to open or close charge pressure actuator.

When there is no any other fault code store in control module accept this fault code. Than it means that there is a problem of this actuator only. To check this actuator go to engine compartment and with the help of scan tool. Try to actuate charge pressure actuator by actuation test. Inspect visually linkage of charge pressure actuator if linkage it moving or not. If there is no response from actuator then replace that actuator so that problem can be solve. But if it actuate and try to open or close charger pressure actuator. Look very closely, because sometime when fins of charge pressure actuator is block. Then there will be very few moment at linkage to open turbocharger as fins are block due to carbon deposition on it.

 But if there is no moment at linkage, than disconnect the connection of linkage from turbocharger. Than try to actuate charge pressure actuator with the help of scan tool. As if there will be a problem of carbon deposition at fins of turbocharger than it can be confirmed by this trick. Actuate it and look very closely if now linkage is moving or not. If there is no movement at all at the actuator linkage than try to check it by disconnecting linkage from turbocharger. If linkage does move after disconnecting it from turbocharger. Than it means that turbocharger is block with carbon deposition in it or any mechanical malfunction inside it. Due to which when linkage of actuator is connected with turbocharge, it does not move.

Remove turbocharger outside and clean it, along with the turbocharger remove exhaust gas cooler, exhaust gas actuator etc. Clean all of these actuator so that there is no carbon deposition in it. Because when any one of this will be block from carbon. Than the problem of no boost at engine may not be gone.

How risky it is to drive with 244d00:

Driving with fault code 244d00 charge pressure control deviation, charging pressure too high control deviation store in engine control module. May not be a good idea, because when this kind of fault code store in control module. Than engine performance become worst to drive a comfortably. Because due to this fault code, you may not be able to boost engine as per requirement which is quietly very difficult thing.

Solution:

Replace faulty charge pressure control actuator.

Replace other faulty sensor like, air mass sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor.

 Repair or replace broken linkage of charge air pressure actuator.

Clean block fins with carbon inside turbocharger.

Repair or replace air pipe which is connected with turbocharger.

Solve electrical fault at charge pressure actuator.
